Your fetus now weighs about 2.4 kg, squarely in the range of a kinkajou, a golden, wide-eyed rainforest mammal sometimes called a honey bear. It is not a bear or a primate but a relative of raccoons, built for a life spent almost entirely in the treetops of Central and South America.
It has a fully prehensile tail it uses like a fifth limb, ankles that rotate so it can run down a trunk head-first, and a tongue up to 13 cm long for reaching nectar deep inside flowers.
Feeding on nectar and fruit, it pollinates flowers and scatters seeds as it travels, making it a quiet gardener of the rainforest that most people have never heard of.
Meanwhile, inside you
Your fetus this week is filling out fast and most of their physical development is complete. The main job left is gaining weight, and they may put on around half a pound a week from here.
